专家简介:Murray Davis is a Forest Ecologist with Scion (New Zealand Forest Research Institute). He has a background in mountainland and mineland rehabilitation research, especially with the use and nutrition of legumes for rehabilitation of eroded mountainlands, and on use of indigenous forest species for mineland and rangeland rehabilitation. He has undertaken research on the nutrition of indigenous and exotic forest species and on establishment of indigenous and exotic forest species by seeding, including promotion of establishment of pines using mycorrhizal spore inoculation of seed. He has undertaken extensive research on the impact of afforestation on soil chemical properties using paired-site and longitudinal studies and has been involved in development of the New Zealand Soil Carbon Monitoring System used for estimating New Zealand’s soil carbon stocks and changes for international reporting. Current research includes the study of nitrate leaching following nitrogen fertiliser application to Pinus radiata plantations, and the effect of growing tree species with different mycorrhizal types in mixtures on the nutrition of those species. He has published over 70 papers in national and international Journals and is Manager of Scion’s South Island office at the University of Canterbury, Christchurch.
