Confucius Institute at Angeles University Foundation Holds the 2023 Summer Training Program for Chinese Mandarin Teachers in the Basic Education of the Philippines

In 2023, a summer training program for Chinese mandarin teachers of the Philippines was held and recently it was successfully concluded. A graduation ceremony was held and more than 150 people attended the event, including Engr Jose Macapagal, Vice President of Angeles University Foundation, Xu Lei, the Chinese Dean of the Confucius Institute, Pei Gang, the Philippine dean of the Confucius Institute, Xie Jingyi, Sponsored Chinese teacher, international Chinese education volunteers, and 131 Chinese mandarin teachers from public secondary schools across the Philippines.

In the garden of the Confucius Institute at Angeles University Foundation , to feel the charm of Chinese culture, Chinese mandarin teachers participated in Chinese cultural experience projects carefully prepared by volunteer teachers, such as paper cutting, calligraphy, Chinese knots, Peking Opera face makeup, Chinese traditional clothing, and AR photo experience. At the graduation ceremony, Chinese mandarin teachers and volunteer teachers from 9 classes who participated in this training jointly gave wonderful performances, fully demonstrating the knowledge and teaching skills learned in the training, and the atmosphere of the event was warm.

It is leaned that the training lasted for one month, and for the first time this year, the mixed teaching mode of 2 weeks online courses plus 2 weeks offline courses was adopted. The Chinese mandarin teachers got training not only in language proficiency and teaching skills but also in improving the application capacity of IT and the effect was highly approved by them.
