FNU Alumnus Dr. Chen Zhijian awarded the Louisa Gross Horwitz Prize

On September 20th, Dr. Chen Zhijian, an alumnus of FNU, was awarded the Louisa Gross Horwitz Prize in recognition of his groundbreaking work in the field of innate immunity and the cGAS-STING signaling pathway. Dr.Chen is a member of the National Academy of Sciences and the National Academy of Medicine in the United States, a researcher at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, and a distinguished professor at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.

The Louisa Gross Horwitz Prize, established in 1967 and presented by Columbia University in the United States, honors outstanding contributions to basic research in the fields of biology or biochemistry. Dr. Chen Zhijian is the 112th recipient of this award. According to statistics, among the 111 previous recipients over the past 56 years, 51 have also been awarded the Nobel Prize.
