FNU Co-hosts the Conference of Mainland and Taiwan on Cultural Heritage and Historical Reflection: Ye Rongzhong and Rewriting the History of Taiwan Literature

Themed by Cultural Heritage and Historical Reflection with the combined implementation of online and offline, the conference was held in Fuzhou from September 24 to 25 and was co-hosted by the Institute of Philosophy of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Fujian Taiwanese Association, Jiuzhou Press, and Fujian Normal University (FNU) and organized by Base for Cultural Exchange and Research of All-China Federation of Taiwan Compatriots , Center for Studies of Fujian and Taiwan in FNU, and Research Center for the Inheritance and Development of Chinese Literature in FNU. 

The ceremony was held by Wang Wending, the former vice-president of FNU, and speeches were given respectively by Yang Yizhou, the vice-chairman of All-China Federation of Taiwan Compatriots, Zhang Zhiqiang, the director of Institute of Philosophy of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Wang Shoubing, the vice-president of Jiuzhou Press, and Wu Jianfeng, the vice-president of FNU. The academic exchange consisted of keynote speeches and group discussions. More than 40 well-known experts and scholars who study the cultures between Taiwan and mainland delivered lectures, including Sun Shaozhen, Lv Zhenghui, Zhaogang, Ye Weinan, Xu Deming, Lan bozhou, Zhang Zhonggang, and Xu Xiuhui. After that, they communicated about multiple topics, including Ye Rongzhong and the Research on the History of the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression between Taiwan and mainland, the Inheritance of Chinese Culture and Anti-colonization, Research on Ye Rongzhong and Historical Reflection, and Young Scholars on Ye Rongzhong.

A specialized seminar was also organized for postgraduates, where relevant scholars were invited to hold a round-table conference on Leading by Ye Rongzhong, from which Ye’s thoughts can inspire a new path to the integration and development of the cultures between Taiwan and mainland.
