FNU Co-hosts the 19th Straits Law Forum

The forum, co-hosted by 19 units, including Fujian Provincial Cultural and Economic Exchange Center, Fujian Provincial Taiwan-related Law Research Center, and Law School of FNU, was held in Fuzhou on August 18th. Attendees included Tan Yunkun, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of Fujian Provincial People's Congress, Qiao Xiaoyang, Chairman of the Legal Committee of the 12th National People's Congress, You Quanrong, President of Hubei Provincial Court, Chen Hua, Chairman of Fujian Provincial Cultural and Economic Exchange Center, Ni Yingda, Executive Vice Chairman of the Exchange Center, Wang Changping, President of FNU, as well as nearly 300 legal experts and scholars from both sides of the Taiwan Strait, Hong Kong and Macao.

The forum was held both online and offline, focusing on the theme of “Theoretical and Practical Research on Administrative Law Enforcement”. The participants conducted in-depth discussions on such issues as the revision of administrative reconsideration norms, administrative law enforcement in emergency management, administrative discretion, application of artificial intelligence and big data in administrative law enforcement.

It is reported that since its establishment in 2003, the Straits Law Forum has firmly taken the pulse of economic and social development, revolved round the needs of the national legislative process and the construction of the rule of law, adhered to the academic position of Freedom, Inclusiveness and Equal Consultation, and continuously expanded its appeal and influence. It has developed into an important platform for legal scholars and practitioners from both sides of the Strait, Hong Kong and Macao to exchange ideas, share wisdom, and enhance friendship, thus making positive contributions to promoting the peaceful development of cross-strait relations.
