On October 21, a delegation led by Roseane Medeiros, Director of the International Relations Office of Ceará State, Brazil, visited Fujian Normal University (FJNU). The delegation was welcomed by Vice President Ouyang Songying, along with representatives from the International Office and the School of Mathematics and Statistics.

In his opening remarks, Vice President Ouyang introduced FJNU’s recent developments and highlighted its long-standing educational and cultural ties with Brazil. Emphasizing the university’s century-old tradition of openness and its commitment to global engagement, he expressed hope that the visit would mark a new phase in cooperation with the state of Ceará. By combining resources and expanding collaboration in scientific research and joint education programs, the two sides can foster high-caliber talents with bicultural competence, contributing to the China–Brazil Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

Roseane Medeiros praised FJNU’s distinguished history and acknowledged the promising prospects for collaboration between China and Brazil, and between Fujian Province and Ceará State. She expressed her office’s readiness to act as a bridge, leveraging its resources and social influence to promote substantive partnerships in education, culture, and academic exchange. She stressed that closer cooperation between universities and regions would deepen mutual understanding and strengthen friendship between the two nations.

Both sides engaged in productive discussions on establishing joint educational mechanisms and building long-term cooperation frameworks, laying a solid foundation for sustained and multifaceted collaboration between FJNU and Ceará.

During their visit, the delegation also toured the University History Museum and the School of Mathematics and Statistics.
