On January 3rd, a delegation led by Vice President Mori Tatsuya of Okinawa Prefectural University of Arts, Japan, visited Fujian Normal University (FNU). Chen Qinghua, Vice President of FNU, met with the visiting delegation, accompanied by Wang Yaohua, former Vice Chairman of Fujian Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, renowned ethnomusicologist, and professor at FNU College of Music. Representatives from the International Cooperation and Exchange Office, College of Music, and College of Fine Art also participated in the discussion.

Chen Qinghua briefed the delegation on the recent developments in FNU's disciplines, talents, research, and internationalization efforts. He emphasized the longstanding cultural exchange between China and Japan, highlighting the rich cultural and artistic ties between Fujian and Okinawa. He expressed the hope that this visit would serve as an opportunity to leverage the advantages of both sides, to actively engage in collaborative research in relevant disciplines, and to facilitate exchanges between faculty and students, contributing to the innovative development of Sino-Japanese cultural exchanges.

Mori Tatsuya provided an overview of the internationalization efforts at Okinawa Prefectural University of Arts. He noted the long-standing friendly partnership between the two universities and identified significant potential for collaboration in the research of traditional music history in Fujian and Okinawa, as well as in the field of art education. He expressed the desire to use this visit as a platform to establish new avenues for faculty and student exchanges, collaborative teaching and research, and to advance deeper cooperation in the field of artistic education, further enhancing cultural and artistic exchanges between Fujian and Okinawa Prefecture.

At the meeting, both sides discussed expanding collaboration in various areas, strengthening research cooperation in music and fine art disciplines, and promoting the sharing of resources.

On the following day, Vice President Mori Tatsuya and his delegation visited FNU College of Fine Art and College of Music, touring art studios, the lacquer art gallery, the music hall, and practice rooms, among other artistic research and teaching facilities.
