On June 9, a delegation led by Ye Guiping, Vice President of City University of Macau, visited Fujian Normal University (FJNU). Vice President Fang Qianhua met with the visiting guests. The meeting was also attended by heads of relevant FJNU units, including the Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office, the Human Resource Office, the Science and Technology Department, the College of Online Education and Continuing Education, and the Fujian Teachers Training Center for Higher Education.
Vice President Fang extended a warm welcome to Vice President Ye and his delegation. He noted that Fujian and Macau share close geographical ties, deep kinship, and rich cultural connections, which provide a solid foundation and broad prospects for educational cooperation. He emphasized that FJNU has always placed great importance on educational exchanges between Fujian and Macau and actively supports the Belt and Road Initiative and high-quality regional development. He expressed hope that this exchange would further consolidate the strong partnership with City University of Macau, enhance collaboration in vocational education, teacher training, and technological innovation, and jointly advance projects in talent development and research cooperation. He also stressed the importance of focusing on improving the quality of applied talent cultivation, enhancing the efficiency and sustainability of bilateral cooperation, and contributing to the coordinated development of higher education in both regions.
Vice President Ye spoke highly of the long-standing and successful cooperation between the two universities. He noted that City University of Macau adheres to an international and application-oriented educational philosophy and has built a solid foundation in vocational education, international talent cultivation, and scientific and technological innovation cooperation. He expressed hope that the two universities would establish a sustained and close cooperative mechanism, jointly develop a distinctive training model in vocational education, and build a two-way platform for teacher training and exchange. He also called for deepening industry-university-research collaboration in innovative technologies and broadening cooperation across multiple fields to cultivate more high-quality talents capable of meeting the needs of social development.
During the meeting, the two universities conducted in-depth discussions on deepening inter-university cooperation and explored potential directions and pathways for collaboration in vocational education, teacher training, innovative technology, and talent development.
