On April 3, Ling Qidan, Secretary of the Party Committee of Fujian Normal University (FJNU), met with a delegation of Hong Kong alumni on the Qishan Campus. The delegation included Lin Mindun, Permanent Honorary President of the Hong Kong Alumni Association and Chairman of Vintion Electronics Co., Ltd.; Lu Xiangqian, Permanent Honorary President; Xu Jianping, President; and Lin Jianbin, Vice President. Also in attendance were Deputy Secretary of the FJNU Party Committee and representatives from the United Front Work Department and the Hong Kong Alumni Association.
The university leadership extended a warm welcome to the delegation and highly commended the Hong Kong Alumni Association for its active and effective role in uniting alumni in Hong Kong and promoting exchanges and cooperation between FJNU and various sectors in the region. They also expressed sincere gratitude to the association for its longstanding care and support for the university's reform and development.
The leaders emphasized that alumni are a valuable asset and a hallmark of the university's legacy. As FJNU is currently in a critical phase of advancing its "Double First-Class" initiative, they expressed hope that the Hong Kong Alumni Association would continue to serve as a bridge, fostering deeper collaboration between alumni and the university, and contributing wisdom and strength to its development. Looking ahead to the university's 120th anniversary next year, the leaders called on alumni to sustain their support and active engagement in celebrating this milestone and advancing the university's progress.
In response, the returning alumni reaffirmed their commitment to the principle of "love for the country, love for Hong Kong, and love for the alma mater." They pledged to rally Hong Kong alumni to work hand in hand with the university in creating a brighter future and celebrating its 120th anniversary.
