On June 10, a delegation from the Hong Kong Alumni Association visited the university for exchanges. The delegation was led by Lu Xiangqian, Permanent Honorary President of the Hong Kong Alumni Association; Shi Xiuye, Honorary President; and Lin Jianbin, Vice Chairman. Ling Qidan, Secretary of the FJNU Party Committee, met with the guests. Also in attendance were Chen Xiaohong, Deputy Secretary of the FJNU Party Committee and President of the Alumni Association, along with relevant officials from the Party and Administration Office and the United Front Work Department (Alumni Association Office).

On behalf of the university, Secretary Ling extended a warm welcome to the delegation and highly commended the association's achievements over its 26-year history. He noted that the Hong Kong Alumni Association has long served as a vital bridge connecting the university with alumni in Hong Kong and Macao, facilitating university-enterprise cooperation, regional exchanges, and alumni solidarity. He expressed hope that the newly elected Board of Directors would carry forward the association's fine traditions, bring together the strengths of alumni in Hong Kong, deepen educational, cultural, and economic cooperation between Fujian and Hong Kong, and strengthen ties between alumni and their alma mater. He also encouraged more substantive and sustained collaboration among the university, local communities, and alumni. Looking ahead to the university's 120th anniversary, Secretary Ling hoped the Hong Kong Alumni Association would encourage alumni in Hong Kong to return to campus for the celebration, draw on their wisdom and expertise, strengthen collaboration across the alumni community, and work together to support the university's continued high-quality development.

Lu Xiangqian gave an overview of the grand celebration marking the 26th anniversary of the Hong Kong Alumni Association and the inauguration ceremony of its first Board of Directors. He affirmed that the newly elected leadership would carry forward the association's mission by continuing to strengthen alumni engagement and services, deepen exchanges and cooperation across various fields, contribute to the prosperity and stability of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and support the university's high-quality development. He also pledged to help make the university's 120th anniversary celebrations a great success.

During the visit, Lu Xiangqian, on behalf of the Hong Kong Alumni Association, presented Secretary Ling and the Alumni Association with a commemorative gift from the newly elected leadership, in appreciation of the university's longstanding care and support for the association.
