专家简介:李宁军,弗吉尼亚联邦大学医学院副教授,主要从事肾源性高血压以及肾损伤相关分子机制研究。独立主持NIH/RO1两项,共同主持NIH/RO1一项以及一些其他科研项目。目前,已在Circulation Research (IF=9.989),Biochimica et Biophysica Acta-Molecular Basis of Disease(IF=5.387),Antioxidants & Redox Signaling(IF=8.456),Kidney International(IF=6.606),Hypertension(IF=7.368)等顶级专业期刊上发表学术论文30余篇,2013年Google Scholar数据表明其论文引用次数已经超过1000,单篇SCI论文引用次数最高为226。

背景知识:Stem cell niche, where the stem cells reside in vivo, provides microenvironment and extrinsic signals that determine the maintenance, self-renewal and differentiation of stem cells. The renal medulla is a niche for adult kidney stem cells and that these renal medullary stem cells importantly participate in the structural and functional maintenance and repair of renal medullary cells. Given the fact that the renal medulla plays an important role in the regulation of sodium excretion and long-term blood pressure, the function of stem cell niche in the renal medulla may contribute to the maintenance of normal cell homeostasis and functional integrity in this kidney region and thereby to the long-term regulation of arterial blood pressure.
