专家简介:吴金辉,男,1975年2月生,黑龙江讷河人,现任东北师范大学物理学院院长,量子科学中心教授。教育部新世纪优秀人才和吉林省长白山学者特聘教授。2001年起在吉林大学任教,2003年在吉林大学获理学博士学位,2014年调至东北师范大学工作,多次赴意大利比萨高师开展科研合作。主要从事量子光学领域光与物质相互作用的基础理论研究工作,已在Physical Review Letters、Physical Review A、Optics Letters和Optics Express等学术期刊上发表SCI论文130余篇,部分论文被他人正面引用1200余次。获饶毓泰基础光学奖优秀奖、吉林省青年科技奖和吉林省自然科学奖一等奖。

报告摘要:Rydberg atoms have attracted extensive attentions in recent years due to exaggerated properties like long lifetimes and strong interactions. They are shown in theory and experiment to promise a versatile platform for quantum information processing and quantum many-body simulation. We first review a few important advances on exotic interaction dynamics of single-photon pulses and gate strategies based on single-photon storage in cold Rydberg atoms. We then introduce two of our recent works by developing different approaches to simulate the propagation dynamics of single-photon or multi-photon pulses in cold Rydberg atoms under the EIT configuration. In one work, we show some unexpected results of single-photon interaction lacked in previous works where more approximations are used to overcome the complexity in many-body systems. In the other work, we show the nonlinear storage and retrieval of a multi-photon pulse to well recover relevant results in a recent experiment with additional nontrivial findings clarified.
